I am a Mega-Commuter!
2 areas in the San Francisco Bay Area, in Northern California, have not only been identified as “Mega-Commute” areas but the TOP 2 “Mega-Commute” areas in the country, and I commute through both of them. Census Bureau Report and a San Jose Mercury News article define a “Mega-Commute” as a work commute traveling more than 50 miles and taking more than 90 minutes each way.
I actually commute from Santa Clara County (2nd Mega-Commute) to the East Bay(1st Mega-Commute), about 50 miles, starting in South San Jose and ending in Downtown Oakland about 2 hours later.
It’s hard to believe some of the things I see and hear during my commute, that I had to document my adventures… CommuteM@n is that journal. My slogan for CommuteM@n is “The $#!% that I see on my commute”
A major advantage in using public transportation is that I am not spending my commute time behind a steering wheel, with my foot on the gas, then brake , then gas, then brake… And it is not illegal to be on your cell phone on a train. As a result, I will be posting what I think about the books, music, and games that I encounter.
